If there's one thing I don't vibe with, it's the "dri-fit" phonomenon. Every time I multi-wear that stuff, I end up sniffing my own armpits— even with repeated washes I can't seem to get the stink off the fabric from previous workouts. I've also never liked the weird skinfeel of some of these "high-performance" fabrics, which is why I traditionally just reach for some old-timey cotton t-shirt when I go for a hike, play hoops or to the gym.
But as an, ahem, maturing man, I've recently been yearning to channel ye olde cadet days and dial in an upgraded "workout uniform" I can wear consistently. I just haven't found the right gear for it. Enter functionality-focused Bamtech, which offers made-in-the-USA active clothing in sustainable materials like their Bamboo. Dope! It's for guys like you and me— guys who want comfy, durable, wear-it-again-and-again gear we can feel good about.
Product Review: Bamtech Aerotech T-Shirt and Training Shorts
"Eliminate decision fatigue like a seasoned stoic."
Recently the gents at Bamtech were kind enough to zip me over essential pieces to test out, including a bamboo t-shirt, tank top, and signature training short. First things first; choices. On the color spectrum I went monochrome with black t-shirt and steel grey shorts, which is a bomproof look to rinse and repeat again and again when you get active with your bad self.
Yes, you can also be that guy who wears the same thing to the gym on a consistent basis. You'll eliminate decision fatigue like a seasoned stoic while looking good and functioning right.
Here were my impressions after a coupla weeks rockin' Bamtech:
"I started wearing it to bed."
I love the feel of this stuff. The shorts, in a eco-conscious Rpet Poly fabric, are mad comfy, and feature a double pocket that I put to use frequently. Also, the fit was perfect, with none of that weird bunching up in the wrong places.
I immediately employed these for multi-use. I wore the shorts hiking, working out, and even chose them to wear around town one day. Which is saying something, cause I usually skip shorts like the plague when I'm out and about.
And while I'm not a huge tank top advocate in general, the bamtech eucalyptus tercel tank was really comfy, and I even started wearing it to bed.
Good for hoops and probably soccer, too. I like my workouts to have variety and I'm known to go straight from the weights to the cardio to the hoops, and this stuff felt good to play in. Again, I appreciate the activity-agnostic vibe Bamtech gives off, again making it easy to use as a uni.
Underlying all this flexibility of wear is Bamtech's focus on sustainability and made-in-the-USA-ness, which is a nice reason to pony up little bit more for this quality.
Give Bamtech a Shot
All in all, if you are looking for a brand that will give you comfort, flexibility, and sustainable, made-in-the-USA good vibes, I recommend making Bamtech your go-to active uniform. Pick up a shirt, tank, shorts, and maybe even a long-sleeve and dial that in for a while.
Just make sure you go black-and-grey like me for the true Corps Squad vibes.
